Concise description:
This set of lessons consists of a total of 21 lessons on injuries and violence. For injuries, such general topics as general principles, measuring and surveillance, and epidemiological analyses are dealt with. Besides, specific lessons are presented on road traffic injuries, drowning, falling and burning, child poisoning and injuries at the workplace. The lessons on violence comprise of violence against children, suicide, sexual violence, and violence committed by young persons. In addition, some lessons on care and rehabilitation are presented.
All lessons can be followed on-line or downloaded in any order. The material is appropriate for students, who have basic knowledge in epidemiology. Many terms used are explained in a glossary. Each lesson includes some self-assessments, including the answers. The material is also suitable for teachers who want to combine any number of lessons to make a customized learning program. A guideline for the latter group, however, is lacking.
